I think I have infertility. Now What? 8 First-Steps to Take
If you’ve been trying to conceive for a while without success, infertility may be the culprit. Unexplained infertility—when tests come back normal but the pregnancy still doesn’t occur—is especially frustrating and can leave couples feeling helpless. But there are steps you can take if you think infertility might be an issue for your family. By understanding what infertility is, tracking your cycles closely, and seeking professional help when needed, you can give yourself the best chance of conceiving successfully.

Tip 1: Make an appointment with your OB/GYN AND a fertility doctor (it may take you a LONG time to get an appointment scheduled) Be sure to ask for a basic physical blood panel, hormone panel, and anatomy scans for fallopian tubes and uterus to detect any abnormalities

Tip 2: Track your cycle symptoms and your ovulation

Tip 3: Create a Reproductive Life Plan (not sure what that is? click HERE to watch) Ready to get started with your plan? CLICK HERE for a free downloadable.

Tip 4: Take a look at your lifestyle. Small changes to reduce inflammation can make a huge impact.  For instance, adding high-antioxidant foods like green leafy vegetables and dark red fruits like berries help with oxidative stress and cell detox.

Tip 5: Add quality whole-food supplements. Be sure that the supplements you purchasing are from food sources and not synthetic sources. One great way to tell is to look for methylcarbylamine listed for B vitamins and NOT cyanocobalamin which contains small doses of cyanide.

Tip 6: Remove toxins. What does this mean? Look for cleaners with few ingredients or good/green ratings at EWG.org. My top product to detox in this area is laundry products since we're in our clothes or on our sheets 23 1/2 hours a day. (check out my favorites tab for a list of recommended products)

Tip 7: Consider acupuncture or holistic treatments to reduce stress which is known to cause infertility. Many studies have found acupuncture helpful in increasing fertility. Acupuncture may also help with relaxation and reduce stress hormones that can interfere with the natural hormone balance needed for pregnancy.

Tip 8: Get emotional support from professionals or community groups like infertility forums (check out my free FB support community Infertility Empowered

Finally, infertility can be a challenging journey to go through. But by educating yourself on infertility and actively taking steps to improve your chances of conception, you can set yourself up for success. Keep in mind that having infertility does not mean the end of your dreams of having a family—there are so many wonderful options available today that can help make those dreams come true!
